Dr Magesh Arthanari is a highly experienced General Practitioner with extensive expertise in mental health, women’s health, and dermatology. With over 24 years of clinical experience, she has demonstrated proficiency across all aspects of general practice. Dr Arthanari obtained her medical degree in India in 2002 and completed
her GP training in Oxfordshire, becoming a Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2013. She has also obtained a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a Diploma in Sexual and Reproductive Health Care. She is competent in fitting coils and implants and has undertaken both basic and advanced dermatoscopy training, enabling her to manage skin lesions and moles at a general practice level.
Dr Arthanari also completed Obstetrics and Gynaecology rotations between 2006 and 2009 and utilises the skills gained in her general practice work, particularly in women’s health and family planning services.
Dr Arthanari is currently working as a GP Partner at Coley Park Group Practice in Reading. She is involved in the day-to-day running of the practice alongside two other partners and manages QOF and IIF targets. She attends regular meetings for the surgery and PCN. She is the palliative care lead for the surgery and maintains care plans for patients. She also undertakes regular audits and quality improvement activities. She is currently leading the GPIP for the surgery towards total triage. This modern GP model focuses on improving patient experience and access, better aligning team capacity with patient needs, and improving the staff working environment.
Dr Arthanari is a keen educator with a strong interest in medical education. She is a General Practice trainer and a Foundation Doctor trainer and has been involved in training Physician Associates from Reading University during their GP placements.
