Consultant Psychiatrist
"Dr Sai Achuthan was brilliant, and made my autism assessment a positive, friendly and helpful experience. He listened to me carefully and thoughtfully, whilst also guiding us assertively through the process and making sure it happened within a manageable amount of time and that he gathered all the information necessary. He spoke to me respectfully and made me feel considered, heard, and with dignity during a very detailed and thorough assessment."
"Dr Sai Achuthan's report was thorough and considered, and it was clear he had read all my notes beforehand and put in considerable thought before, during and after the assessment. I was so relieved to receive an autism diagnosis at age 39. He also had a friendly manner, and there were some suitable shared moments of levity as well as seriousness and detail."
"Absolutely amazing, honestly got a bit attached! one of the first adults I was able to feel so comfortable to open up with. Very understanding and let me take my time to explain myself. I like that he gave me examples! I find it hard to answer questions with a lot of possible answers. The only improvement would be wifi connection, but im 98% sure that was from my end anyway."
"I had a very positive experience with Dr. Sai Achuthan. I tend to write long, detailed descriptions, and I appreciated that he took the time to read everything! He showed genuine empathy and understanding throughout the conversation, which made me feel heard and respected. I felt that he approached my autism case with both professionalism and compassion, and that combination means a lot to me 🙂 Thank you!"
" There was one factual error in the report which may have been a mistake on my part owing to my inability to concentrate sufficiently on the initial questionnaires. Ergo my only suggestion might be to view the questionnaires with more scepticism. At a broader level, the suggestion would be to go through the questionnaires in person to avoid clumsy responses on the part of the person filling it in; in my case through immense distraction. However, to do so in person may of course be too time-consuming."
"Whilst I’m glad you get to choose your Doctor, I definitely felt overwhelmed with knowing who to pick - but I am SO grateful I chose Dr Sai. He was incredible from the moment the assessment started, instantly noticing how anxious I was and putting me at ease to the point we actually laughed at several parts of the assessment. I felt so seen and validated. I cannot recommend Dr Sai enough."
"I was assessed online for autism. I found Dr Achuthan to be reassuring, he kept me informed so I knew what was expected. Questions were clear so I had no difficulties during the assessment despite acute anxiety. He gave me a clear diagnosis and invited questions from me. I would be happy to recommend him as an ASD assessor"
"I felt very much at ease, respected and not patronised. I felt I could trust Dr Achuthan's assessment and could trust him enough to be myself in the interview which is hard for me because I am usually trying to meet the expectations of the person I'm talking to. I appreciate that doing the assessment online means more people in different locations can be seen but I would have preferred to meet in person."
"He was amazing, I felt like he really understood me and he really listened to me, never rushed me and if I didn’t understand a question he would say it in a different way, it felt nice to finally be understood and listened to for the first time, would recommend to anyone, thank you! Now I can learn and understand more about the way I am and why I do things the way I do, thank you again"
"I had Dr Sai Achuthan for my autism assessment and and can honestly say he made it so easy and comfortable for me I was very nervous as things like this are not easy for me he explained everything in detail and broke words down for me he let me talk and let me take as long as I needed I didn’t feel like he was rushing me or pressuring me into saying anything. "
"Dr Sai Achuthan was so professional but at the same time had really good banter and was funny so that made me feel even more comfortable opening up to him as I wouldn’t have liked someone so serious as that would of made me feel nervous overall this doctor was absolutely fantastic and I would 100% recommend him to anyone for their autism assessment in the future."
"Dr barker really helped me understand what I had been experiencing in the lead up to my admission and stressed the importance of not using drugs in the future that could impact my mental state to a detrimental effect We had a great conversation around various events in my life and put me at ease after knowing that I had experienced various bouts of psychosis through drug use."
Any question I was unsure of, Sai gave examples or happily re-explained, which hugely helped. I felt listened to and didn’t feel rushed or pressured to answer any questions at all. My overall experience was great, everything was explained in lots of detail for me to understand and he was extremely professional, friendly, and understanding. Overall, my assessment with Dr Sai was excellent and i would really recommend him to anyone. Thank you so much for such a positive experience with my assessment, i am very grateful.
I had a really positive experience with my ASD assessment with Dr. Sai. My partner had recently been diagnosed as autistic by him, so I knew right away that I wanted to be assessed by him too and I'm so glad I did. I also have ADHD, so I’m not always the clearest when trying to explain things, and I tend to mask quite heavily. I was worried I might not be able to communicate everything properly or that I wouldn’t get a clear answer. But from the start, Dr. Sai made me feel completely at ease.
I was able to speak freely, and I felt genuinely listened to and understood. I was never rushed, and he was patient even when I went off topic, which I often do. I would highly recommend Dr. Sai if you’re seeking an ASD assessment. I know there are a lot of horror stories out there about the diagnostic process especially for women, and it can feel like a total minefield but I honestly can’t recommend him enough. Thank you so much!
Dr Sai Achuthan is an excellent doctor. He’s friendly, kind, thorough and professional. He had read all my notes before my appointment with him and had taken the time to know and understand me. He was attentive during the appointment and made me feel at ease immediately. I don’t always find it easy talking to strangers but I felt very relaxed and able to explain myself to him.
Dr Sai has a fantastic knowledge of his field and a great understanding of how autism can present in females. I was delighted to have him as my consultant and would wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone undergoing an assessment for ASD or ADHD, or indeed anything else within his domain.
I felt very much at ease, respected and not patronised. I felt I could trust Dr Achuthan's assessment and could trust him enough to be myself in the interview which is hard for me because I am usually trying to meet the expectations of the person I'm talking to. I am very grateful to have seen Dr Sai Achuthan. I was nervous before beginning my appointment but I quickly felt more at ease and he asked me questions that seemed to cover a lot of aspects of autism and they prompted me to remember important points that were useful for my diagnosis. I also like how he clearly explained the different levels of autism and diagnosed me with level 1 autism.
From the moment I was referred, I have been treated with an incredible amount of care and attention. Taking only four months, I was diagnosed with autism quickly, avoiding a long and lengthy process. Dr Sai was fantastic and really put me at ease. I would recommend him and Psychiatry UK to anyone.
I had my autism assessment and diagnosis with Sai, and I can not recommend him enough. He made me feel really relaxed and comfortable and was very understanding. I’m so glad I chose him. Thank you for giving me the answers I have longed for! If I had to do it all over again I would 100% chose sai again.
